Mrs. Booth is in her 33rd year of teaching at Defiance. She received his Bachelor's of Music Education in 1987 from Ball State University and her Masters in Music from Morehead State in 1991. Mrs. Booths first appointment was at Attica Consolidated Schools for 2 years, shortly after she became assistant director at Defiance. A position she held for 13 years before taking over in 2004 as the Director of Bands for Defiance City Schools. Mrs. Booth is also director of the Defiance Community Band, active OMEA adjudicator, and past OMEA District 1 trustee. In her spare time she is passionate about baking, home improvements, and Ohio State football.

Mrs. Booth currently directs the Band of Class Marching Band, High School Symphonic Band, and oversees all band department activities.

Mr. Kester is in his 7th year of teaching. 6 years at Pettisville Schools, and 1 year at Defiance City Schools. Mr. Kester attended Bowling Green State University where he earned a B.A. in Music Education in 2018 and Masters in Music in 2024. In addition, to teaching at DCS he is an adjunct music faculty at Defiance College. Mr. Kester is also President Elect and active member of District I for the Ohio Music Education Association. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, puzzling, and sharing time with family.

Currently Mr. Kester is charge of the 6th-Grade "Bulldog" Band, High School Concert Band, and Middle School Jazz Band.
